Baseball Game Preview: Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers vs. Pipestone Arrows

The Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers will square off against the Pipestone Arrows at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 5-4.

Trevor Smith put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Griffin Zick made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Connor Lanoue, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Pipestone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian, falling 22-9.

Pipestone now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Tracy-Milroy-Balaton, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
