Recap: Hooper Academy Colts vs. Edgewood Academy Wildcats
After flying high against the Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights last Friday, the Hooper Academy Colts came back down to earth. Hooper Academy fell just short of Edgewood Academy by a score of 59-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Hooper Academy has suffered yet this season.
Edgewood Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brock Whitt out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Johnny Groves, who scored 14 points along with five assists and five steals.
Hooper Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Edgewood Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hooper Academy will square off against Fort Dale Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Edgewood Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Autauga Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Autauga Academy and Edgewood Academy are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
