Baseball Recap: Gateway Regional Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Gateway Regional unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 7-0 to the Smith Vo-Tech Vikings on Monday. The Gators have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gateway Regional will welcome Putnam Vo-Tech at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Smith Vo-Tech, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Pathfinder RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give Smith Vo-Tech their first taste of in-conference action this season.
