Softball Recap: Los Alamos Has No Trouble Against Santa Fe

Los Alamos's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Santa Fe Demons as Los Alamos made off with a 17-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hilltoppers, who have now won three matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Malaya Haynes made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Los Alamos got a massive performance out of Jamie Cisneros, who scored five runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those five runs gave Cisneros a new career-high. Nakota Reed was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Los Alamos pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Santa Fe, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Los Alamos will have a chance to go back-to-back against Santa Fe: the pair will be back at it again later today.
