Softball Recap: Wheaton North Comes Up Short

Wheaton North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They came up short against the Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers, falling 11-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in April.

Madilyn Schumacher made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Emma Dodge was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Wheaton North's defeat dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-11.

Coming up, Wheaton North will welcome Batavia at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, they will head out to face off against St. Charles North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The North Stars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
