Baseball Recap: Leslie County Takes a Loss

Leslie County extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping their season record down to 3-13 in the process. They came up short against the Wolfe County Wolves, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 back in March.

Leslie County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Simpson, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Wolfe County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-4. Considering they have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Wolfe County's side, Brayden Wilson was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave Wilson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayden Molands, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Leslie County will square off against Morgan County at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.79 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wolfe County, they will take on Johnson Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
