San Dieguito Academy is 6-1 against Mt. Carmel since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Sundevils at 6:00 p.m. San Dieguito Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel hadn't done well against Poway recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Sundevils narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Titans 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Sundevils have posted since September 9th.

Mt. Carmel was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-16, 23-25, 25-22, 15-5.

Mt. Carmel has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-13 record this season. As for San Dieguito Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-22-1.

San Dieguito Academy took their victory against Mt. Carmel in their previous matchup back in September of 2022 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Sundevils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
