Baseball Recap: St. John Paul II Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

St. John Paul II and North Florida Christian squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but St. John Paul II had to settle for second. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 8-1. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-9 defeat on Tuesday.

St. John Paul II saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Visnovske, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

St. John Paul II has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-8 record this season. As for North Florida Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-16.

St. John Paul II does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Florida Christian, they will take on St. Johns Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.9, the Spartans 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
