Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Trojans vs. Poly Bears

Hillcrest came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Poly Bears. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Hillcrest had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19, 25-19.

Katelyn Brayton went supernova For Poly., getting 23 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Brayton has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Arline Ream, who had ten digs and two assists.

Hillcrest's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9. As for Poly, their victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5.
