The biggest upset of the week belonged to St. John the Baptist, who took down 137th ranked St. John the Baptist, 33-27.
St. Francis Prep moved up to 166 from 416 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Catholic AA-A. A 33-27 win over the Cougars helped the Terriers improve their standing.
Bishop Ford's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Xaviah Mattocks threw for 76 and two touchdowns and Rodney Gonzales had 76 yards receiving. On the ground Dante Aiken chipped in 228 yards.
St. Peter's's BILLY TRIGLIANOS and Willy Dale have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. TRIGLIANOS has thrown for 412 yards this season, while Dale, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has six catches for 226 yards. The Falcons' Aiken leads the league in rushing yards with 379.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bishop Ford takes on the Eagles. At the moment, Jim Esposito's team is in first, while St. Peter's is in sixth.
There should be lots of points scored when the Falcons and Mike Cosentino's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Bishop Ford comes in having scored 89 this season, while the Eagles have scored 55. The Falcons scored 46 points last week as they topped Cardinal Spellman.
Bishop Ford was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to first in Catholic AA-A. The Falcons beat the The Pilots 46-0 earlier in the week.
