Baseball Game Preview: Philadelphia Academy Charter Chargers vs. Northeast Vikings

The Philadelphia Academy Charter Chargers will venture away from home to square off against the Northeast Vikings at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Northeast took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Philadelphia Academy Charter, who comes in off a win.

Philadelphia Academy Charter took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Carver High School of Engineering & Science, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chargers had just enough and edged out Carver High School of Engineering & Science 7-6 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

The team relied heavily on Gavin Lutz, who went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Israel Morales, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Northeast suffered their closest loss since March 21, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Thomas A. Edison by a score of 7-5. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Philadelphia Academy Charter, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Philadelphia Academy Charter couldn't quite finish off Northeast in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 and fell 7-5. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
