Silver Lake has gone 8-2 against Harvard recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Silver Lake got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Katy Soucek out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. What's more, Soucek also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Makenna Karr was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight boards.
Silver Lake was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heartland Lutheran only posted three assists.
Meanwhile, Harvard played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Osceola 54-10. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-3.
Tabi Forney was Harvard's leading scorer, having posted five points. Forney also led the team in rebounds with nine.
Harvard's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Silver Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Silver Lake has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Harvard struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Silver Lake against Harvard in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-11 win. In that contest, Silver Lake amassed a halftime lead of 43-2, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
