Basketball Preview: North Edgecombe Warriors vs. Southeast Halifax Trojans

The North Edgecombe Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Southeast Halifax Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

After soaring to a 61-point win in their last game, North Edgecombe came back down to earth on Saturday. They fell just short of Washington County by a score of 59-56. North Edgecombe's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Southeast Halifax ended up a good deal behind the Chargers on Tuesday and lost 67-48. Southeast Halifax has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Southeast Halifax had strong showings from Kemorriya Evans, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds, and Janiyla Pierce, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Evans has scored all season. Amari Jackson was another key contributor, scoring four points.

North Edgecombe's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Southeast Halifax, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Everything came up roses for North Edgecombe against the Trojans in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 75-24 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Edgecombe since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
