Baseball Recap: Chaparral Comes Up Short

Chaparral lost against Sunrise Mountain back in March of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Chaparral Wolverines fell 8-4 to the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Logan Manuello made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Josh McWilliams, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Chaparral's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Sunrise Mountain, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Chaparral will challenge Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaparral is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Sunrise Mountain, they will take on Saguaro at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sunrise Mountain also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 9.2 runs per game.
