Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Gilead Indians vs. Elgin Comets

The Mt. Gilead Indians will face off against the Elgin Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Mt. Gilead and three for Elgin.

Last Wednesday, Mt. Gilead didn't have quite enough to beat Cardington-Lincoln and fell 35-33.

Meanwhile, Elgin came up short against Waynesfield-Goshen on Thursday and fell 75-65.

Elgin's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Mt. Gilead, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Everything came up roses for Mt. Gilead against Elgin in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, as the squad secured a 54-24 victory. In that game, Mt. Gilead amassed a halftime lead of 35-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
