Baseball Recap: San Francisco Waldorf Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against San Domenico, San Francisco Waldorf was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Marin Academy Wildcats 12-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolverines also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Sam Appel made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Appel was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Emiliano Martinez-Ortiz was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Ben Sarig was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

San Francisco Waldorf's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1. As for Marin Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Looking ahead, San Francisco Waldorf will venture away from home to challenge Westmoor at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marin Academy, they will host Willits at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
