Recap: Manchester Blue Devils vs. Telfair County Trojans
The Manchester Blue Devils had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against Telfair County on Friday as Manchester made off with a 35-13 win. Manchester might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Qua Cooper was a one-man wrecking crew for Manchester as he rushed for 171 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Darius Favors, who rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Manchester's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Cash White and Justus Terry who racked up five sacks between them.
The win (which was Manchester's fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.4 points per game. As for Telfair County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
Manchester will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bowdon at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th. Bowdon is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games. Telfair County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
