Basketball Game Preview: Teays Valley Christian Lions vs. Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders

Teays Valley Christian and Greater Beckley Christian are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Teays Valley Christian Lions just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Greater Beckley Christian Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Teays Valley Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Greater Beckley Christian likes a good challenge.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Teays Valley Christian against Cross Lanes Christian as the team secured a 71-28 victory. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 30 points or more this season.

Teays Valley Christian found their leader in freshman Kahsi Morgan, who posted 25 points. Those 25 points gave Morgan a new career-high. Owen Jones was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 24-24 at halftime, Greater Beckley Christian was not quite St. Joseph Central's equal in the second half on Thursday. They fell to the Irish 66-60. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Greater Beckley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Teays Valley Christian, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-9.

Teays Valley Christian strolled past Greater Beckley Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 69-55. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Greater Beckley Christian's Keegan Davidson, who went 10 of 22 en route to 26 points and five rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Teays Valley Christian still be able to contain Davidson? There's only one way to find out.
