Basketball Game Preview: Altavista Colonels vs. Rustburg Red Devils

The Altavista Colonels will challenge the Rustburg Red Devils at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Friday, Altavista ended up a good deal behind Appomattox County and lost 49-31. The Colonels have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Rustburg had to suffer through a 65-24 loss at the hands of Jefferson Forest. The contest marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Altavista's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-14. As for Rustburg, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8.

Altavista took a serious blow against Rustburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 42-14. Can Altavista avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
