Volleyball Recap: York Now 12-3 over Last 15 Games

York posted their closest victory since April 12th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Hinsdale Central Red Devils 2-1. The Dukes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Devils, too.

York had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-16, 28-26.

Stanley Peck paced York's offense, picking up 14 kills. Peck got some help from Carson Cruver and his 33 assists. Finally, Joe McGreal kept York's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

York is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Hinsdale Central, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, York and Proviso West will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hinsdale Central, they will head out to challenge Neuqua Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
