Basketball Recap: Ithaca Takes a Loss

Ithaca lost against Hemlock back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ithaca Yellowjackets had to suffer through a 62-18 loss at the hands of the Hemlock Huskies. The contest marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Leading Hemlock to victory were Carly Siler and Victoria Hauffe. Siler went 7 of 10 en route to 20 points, while Hauffe almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine steals. Hauffe is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 22 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Isabella Curry, who posted nine points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Ithaca has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Hemlock, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ithaca will head out to challenge Merrill at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hemlock, they will head out on the road to face off against Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
