Baseball Game Preview: Ladue Horton Watkins Rams vs. Northwest Lions

The Ladue Horton Watkins Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Northwest Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ladue Horton Watkins has five straight victories, Northwest has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Ladue Horton Watkins is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They had just enough and edged out Affton 21-20 on Monday.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Northwest challenged Oakville on Thursday. The Lions lost 7-1 to the Tigers.

Northwest got a good showing from Gio Cignetti, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Cignetti has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Northwest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Hawkins, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

The win got Ladue Horton Watkins back to even at 10-10. As for Northwest, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.
