Basketball Game Preview: Valley Christian Trojans vs. Thatcher Eagles

The Valley Christian Trojans will face off against the Thatcher Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Valley Christian has six straight victories, Thatcher has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Valley Christian is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since February 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 38-35 victory over Coolidge.

Meanwhile, Thatcher lost 50-26 to Pima on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Roughriders are ranked 48th).

Valley Christian pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for Thatcher, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.
