Despite their loss, Somerset College Prep Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brian Forde, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the most boards Forde has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was William Tracey, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Tradition Prep really took it to St. Edward's for the full four quarters, racking up an 89-55 victory. Given Tradition Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while St. Edward's is ranked 536th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tradition Prep found their leader in sophomore Aydan Fields, who went 6 of 13 en route to 15 points and eight boards. Daniel Boule was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.
Tradition Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matches.
Tradition Prep is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Somerset College Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Somerset College Prep Academy has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Tradition Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
