Softball Game Preview: Wyoming Wolves vs. Zeeland West Dux

The Wyoming Wolves will head out to challenge the Zeeland West Dux at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wyoming has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight losses, while Zeeland West will come in with four straight victories.

Wyoming fell victim to Wayland and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 13-0 to the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Zeeland West ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over Lakeview.

Sadie Kragt spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bri Kamer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

Zeeland West's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Wyoming, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Wyoming came out on top in a nail-biter against Zeeland West in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dux turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
