Basketball Game Preview: Johnson Ferry Christian Academy Saints vs. Cherokee Christian Warriors

The Johnson Ferry Christian Academy Saints will head out to square off against the Cherokee Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson Ferry Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Cherokee Christian likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, Johnson Ferry Christian Academy came up short against The King's Academy and fell 82-75.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was David Cannon, who shot 4-for-4 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Parker Henderson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, Johnson Ferry Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Cherokee Christian came up short against Furtah Prep on Thursday, falling 78-55. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Cherokee Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Johnson Ferry Christian Academy won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2024, slipping by Cherokee Christian 58-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Johnson Ferry Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
