Softball Recap: Oak Mountain Takes a Loss

Oak Mountain dropped their record down to 20-16 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Curry Yellowjackets, falling 8-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Oak Mountain got a good showing from Maddie Prevallet, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Prevallet has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 14 consecutive appearances.

As for Curry, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 40-2. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won 25 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

On Curry's side, Ambrey Taylor was incredible, firing off two home runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Bailey Beasley also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Coincidentally, Oak Mountain and Curry will both be playing Dothan the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Wolves at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Yellowjackets will head out to face them at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
