Basketball Recap: West Platte Bluejays vs. Lawson Cardinals
Even though the West Platte Bluejays have not done well against the Lawson Cardinals recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. West Platte blew past the Cardinals 56-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for West Platte.
Isaac Willoughby and Andrew Phipps certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Willoughby scored 13 points, while Phipps scored four points along with four steals.
West Platte is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Lawson, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Platte will square off against the Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. DeKalb has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30. As for Lawson, they will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
