Softball Recap: Episcopal Takes a Loss

Episcopal had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 3-6 to make it four. They fell 4-0 to the Trinity Christian Gryphons. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Maroon were not able to get on the board.

As for Trinity Christian, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games.

For Trinity Christian's part, Emma Sibert made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Sibert was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Gilbert, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Chaplin, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Episcopal will square off against Georgetown Day at 4:30 p.m. on May 1. As for Trinity Christian, they will face off against Quantico at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
