Softball Recap: Kamiak Knights vs. Lake Stevens Vikings
Kamiak was the 7-6 winner over Lake Stevens when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings on Thursday.
Gabby Veighey put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Veighey was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Emma Stansfield made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Katie McBride was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.
Kamiak's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Lake Stevens, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-8.
As of now, neither Kamiak nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
