Volleyball Recap: Peyton Gordon and Sydney Hamilton Secure Win for Big Walnut + How To Watch

Big Walnut proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Worthington Kilbourne Wolves 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Eagles have posted since September 23rd.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Big Walnut who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 20-25, 25-15, 22-25, 15-6.

Big Walnut was led to victory by Sydney Hamilton and Peyton Gordon. Hamilton had 15 digs and two aces, while Gordon had 15 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Gordon has posted since October 7th.

Despite the defeat, Worthington Kilbourne saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Audra Bailey had 11 digs and one assist.

Big Walnut has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Worthington Kilbourne, their loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-6.

Big Walnut will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
