Basketball Game Preview: ALA - Gilbert North Eagles vs. Mica Mountain Thunderbolts + How To Watch

After both having extra time off, the ALA - Gilbert North Eagles and the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

ALA - Gilbert North is headed out to face Mica Mountain after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Douglas 40-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since January 4th.

Saige Barney was the offensive standout of the matchup as she posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gwen Scheurn, who scored ten points.

Meanwhile, Mica Mountain humbled Canyon del Oro with a 55-24 victory. The victory continues a trend for the Thunderbolts in their matchups with the Dorados: they've now won four in a row.

Mica Mountain's win came from a few key players ALA - Gilbert North will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jaylene Encinas, who shot 50% from the field on her way to 11 points and four steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Ceraya Grace-Bandy, who went 5-for-11 en route to 12 points.

ALA - Gilbert North took a serious blow against Mica Mountain when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 55-17.
