Preview: Bluffton Tigers vs. Northfield Norsemen
The Bluffton Tigers will be playing at home against the Northfield Norsemen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
After a string of three wins, Bluffton's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were dealt a 76-37 loss at the hands of Manchester. Bluffton has not had much luck with Manchester recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Northfield had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Lakeland Christian Academy by a score of 48-37 on Tuesday. The win was just what Northfield needed coming off of a 68-32 loss in their prior contest.
Northfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaden Baer led the charge by scoring 14 points. Another player making a difference was Tyson Baer, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Bluffton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Northfield, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13.
Bluffton and Northfield were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but Bluffton came up empty-handed after a 48-47 defeat.
