Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Wildcats vs. Beavercreek Beavers

Springfield hasn't had much luck against Beavercreek recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Beavers at 5:00 p.m.

Springfield is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Monday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-3 to Fairmont, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Beavercreek faced Centerville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Beavers had just enough and edged out the Elks 3-1. The game was the first time the Beavers have beaten the Elks on their field since May 25, 2021.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-12-1. As for Beavercreek, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.

Springfield suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Beavercreek in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
