Softball Game Preview: Exeter Township Eagles vs. Penn Manor Comets

The Exeter Township Eagles will challenge the Penn Manor Comets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Exeter Township is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Exeter Township lost 11-3 to Wilson on Wednesday.

Jillian Warner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Penn Manor's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 8-5 to Warwick.

Juleigh Bowmaster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Haley Kreider was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Zuzu Hardy, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Exeter Township has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Penn Manor, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-7.
