Baseball Recap: Foundation Academy Extends Winning Streak to Four

Foundation Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt University on Thursday. The Foundation Academy Lions put the hurt on the University Cougars with a sharp 14-3 win. Considering the Lions have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Rylee Gibson and Joshua Ojeda did most of the damage at the plate: Gibson scored two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Ojeda scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Gibson has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Barak Boston, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs over those games. As for University, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foundation Academy will square off against Master's Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Master's Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season. As for University, they will challenge West Orange at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Orange's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so University's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
