Basketball Recap: UIC College Prep Takes a Loss

UIC College Prep played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 50-17 loss at the hands of the ITW David Speer Academy Pride. The Firecats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-6.

ITW David Speer Academy was led to victory by Miabella Collazo and Roshaunda Wilson. Collazo posted 16 points and four steals, while Wilson dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Wilson a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Anaiyah Costoso, who put up six points and three steals.

UIC College Prep's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for ITW David Speer Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
