Basketball Game Preview: Doherty Spartans vs. Vista Ridge Wolves

Doherty has won three straight games at home, while Vista Ridge has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Doherty Spartans will host the Vista Ridge Wolves at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Doherty's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.

On Saturday, Doherty took their match with ease, bagging a 61-21 victory over Fountain-Fort Carson. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Vista Ridge played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Pine Creek, falling 63-26. The Wolves were down 44-22 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Doherty will need to focus on slowing down Sole' Alexander, one of several Vista Ridge players who made an impact when they last played. She posted six points.

Doherty is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points over those games. As for Vista Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.
