Basketball Recap: Holy Name Takes a Loss

Holy Name was the 50-49 winner over Padua Franciscan when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Holy Name Green Wave lost 52-32 to the Padua Franciscan Bruins on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while the Bruins are ranked 153rd).

Holy Name's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7. As for Padua Franciscan, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Name has already played their next match (against Lake Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Padua Franciscan will be playing at home against St. Joseph Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Padua Franciscan is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
