Basketball Recap: Perry Central Comes Up Short

Perry Central and Evansville Mater Dei squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Perry Central had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats by a score of 39-37. The Commodores were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 51-45.

Evansville Mater Dei's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyle Baumgart, who posted eight points and four steals. Those four steals gave Baumgart a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Charlie Hoffman, who earned five points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Perry Central's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Evansville Mater Dei, their win bumped their record up to 6-16.

Perry Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Evansville Mater Dei, they have already played their next game, a 69-67 defeat against Forest Park on the 8th.
