Soccer Game Preview: Page vs. Benjamin Franklin

The Page Sand Devils will head out to face off against the Benjamin Franklin Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Page has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight defeats, while Benjamin Franklin will come in with 13 straight victories.

Page managed to keep up with Northwest Christian until halftime last Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Page came up short against Northwest Christian, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Sand Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Crusaders are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Benjamin Franklin kept a clean sheet against Globe last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Tigers as they made off with a 15-0 win. Give the Chargers' defense some credit: that's the team's seventh straight shutout.

Benjamin Franklin's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 59 goals over those five matches. As for Page, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
