Basketball Recap: Northeast Early College Takes a Loss

Northeast Early College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the LBJ Austin Jaguars, falling 88-30. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-21.

Ja Shawn Waters was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and ten steals for LBJ Austin. Waters' evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Antione Baker was another key player, going 7 for 8 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Northeast Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for LBJ Austin, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-13.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Eastside Early College the next time they take the court. LBJ Austin will head out to face Eastside Early College at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Northeast Early College will head out to face them at 8:00 p.m. on February 7th.
