Parker faced Mountain Brook in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Thundering Herd took down the Spartans 27-11. Winning may never get old, but the Thundering Herd sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row dating back to last season.

Parker's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chancellor Sparks, who rushed for 156 yards and one TD on only 15 carries. That's the most rushing yards Sparks has posted since back in October of 2024. Isaiah Miles was another key rusher, rushing for 119 yards and one score on only 15 carries.

Another reason for the win was Parker's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Robert Taylor was especially locked on to Mountain Brook's QB and sacked him twice.

Despite the loss, Mountain Brook still got an impressive performance from Cayden Hofbauer, who rushed for 87 yards on only 11 carries, and also threw for 179 yards on 13 of 28 attempts.

Parker's record now sits at 2-0. As for Mountain Brook, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Parker has already played their next match, a 47-3 victory against Gardendale on the 4th. As for Mountain Brook, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 30-27 win against Hueytown on the 5th.
