Newman Central Catholic's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They never let the Amboy Clippers get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by seven runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Evan Bushman's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Garret Matznick, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Garet Wolfe was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Newman Central Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive games.
