Recap: Frankford Pioneers vs. Academy at Palumbo Griffin
The Frankford Pioneers were the 40-36 winner over the Academy at Palumbo Griffin when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Frankford took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Academy at Palumbo on Thursday.
Frankford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zaire Washington, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Gage, who scored ten points.
Frankford's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Academy at Palumbo, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Frankford will be playing in front of their home fans against Northeast at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Northeast has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 882 points over their last 13 matches. As for Academy at Palumbo, they will head out on the road to face off against Boys' Latin Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
