Basketball Game Preview: Toll Gate Titans vs. Times Squared Academy Eagles

The Toll Gate Titans will take on the Times Squared Academy Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Toll Gate is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Central Falls by a score of 55-43. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Toll Gate's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Healey, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Healey is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Damola Oremosu, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards.

Toll Gate smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Times Squared Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They put the hurt on the Blue Wave with a sharp 82-56 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 22 points or more this season.

Times Squared Academy's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.9 points over those games. As for Toll Gate, their record now sits at 17-6.

Toll Gate couldn't quite finish off Times Squared Academy in their previous matchup on February 4th and fell 59-57. Can Toll Gate avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
