Recap: Academy for Academic Excellence Knights vs. Silver Valley Trojans
The Academy for Academic Excellence Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 86-38 loss at the hands of Silver Valley. Academy for Academic Excellence was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-26.
It was another big night for Damien Grundy, who scored 17 points along with seven steals and five assists for Silver Valley. The matchup was Grundy's 14th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jasean Phillips, who scored 13 points along with five steals.
Academy for Academic Excellence has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Silver Valley, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 15-1.
Academy for Academic Excellence will head out on the road to face off against Hesperia Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hesperia Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Tuesday. As for Silver Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Academy of Careers & Exploration at 5:30 p.m. Academy of Careers & Exploration is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
