            Basketball Recap: East Butler Tigers vs. Hampton Hawks        
        
		
        
        
            East Butler won the last time they faced Hampton, and  Lillie Kriz did her part to make sure it happened again. The East Butler Tigers came out on top against the Hampton Hawks by a score of  35-27  on Friday thanks in part to  Kriz, who  dropped  a double-double on 14  points and 14  boards. Kriz is also crushing it when it comes to  steals: she's   grabbed at least two every time she's  taken the court this season.

  Kourtney Tejral was another key player,  putting up four points along with five  rebounds and four  steals. With that strong performance,  she is now averaging an impressive 2.2  steals per game.
 Hampton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Sophia Schulze, who  posted six points in addition to 12  blocks and eight  boards. The dominant performance gave  Schulze a new career-high in  blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of  Gavin Gilmore, who  posted eight points along with 17  boards and four  blocks.
The  victory  got East Butler back to even at 2-2. As for Hampton, their loss was  their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 0-4.
 East Butler didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  56-54  defeat against Sterling on the 21st. As for Hampton, they will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lawrence-Nelson at 6:00  p.m.  on January 2, 2025.
