Baseball Game Preview: Estacada Rangers vs. Gladstone Gladiators

Estacada hasn't had much luck against Gladstone recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Rangers will be playing at home against the Gladiators at 4:30 p.m. Estacada's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Gladstone's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Estacada took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let Molalla get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rangers have posted against the Indians since May 7, 2023.

The result came thanks to Connor Crawford's shutout, as he gave up just a hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lincoln Bunyard, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gladstone). They put the hurt on Madras with a sharp 23-0 victory on Wednesday. The Gladiators have beaten the White Buffalos the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the White Buffalos has come to flipping the script.

Gladstone's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Estacada, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
