Softball Recap: Tallmadge Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Tallmadge ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Green Bulldogs 15-14. The win was nothing new for the Blue Devils as they're now sitting on three straight.

Larissa Taylor looked comfortable as she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Katie Huth was incredible, going a perfect 6-for-6 with six RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those six hits gave her a new career-high. Leila Staszak was another key player, going 3-for-6 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Tallmadge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 26 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Tallmadge's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.2 runs. As for Green, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-3.

Coming up, Tallmadge will welcome Manchester at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Green, they will take on Perry at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
